FAQs

Let's see how we can help?

Working with us

What's your theme or style that you guys specialise in?

Frankly, we do not have a particular style in design per se. We see design as an organic, collaborative process. It's good to start with something in mind, but we let the conversation and process handle the journey from there. There's no right design, but there is a level of comfort that will make you go 'yup, this is it!' and we would like to keep things that way.

How much and how long is the project going to take?

We get it, it's a scary world. Our advice is always to pick a team that you resonate with for the design first, so that we can get that shopping list (scope of works) right before any costing and timeline can be established properly.

Who builds the design?

We are a consultancy design practice and not a D&B or Sales Design. But we do recommend builders that we have worked with and trust to deliver projects as they should be.

Can we use our preferred builders and suppliers?

Yes, you can. We are open to working and integrating with who you are comfortable with.

Can we keep furniture or pieces we already own?

Yes, absolutely! Every piece of the home holds a special memory and we know that. However, don't forget to house your special pieces before bringing them into the new home.

What if I am relocating from overseas? How would this go about?

We do get clients that are coming in or coming back home. Typically we would kick-start the project by getting to know the background and culture of your overseas living lifestyle as a benchmark, and we can work through the design and creating your next habitat. (PS: it's relatively warm in Singapore.)

What if I am relocating from overseas and not able to oversee the project?

It's tricky, but fret not. Just let us know and we will tailor the consultancy and visibility of the project based on your schedule, wherever you may be, but we will eventually need to meet you personally.

Will the garden look like the photographs straight away?

Not quite, and that's normal. Planting takes time to fill out. A garden keeps settling and growing alongside the people who live with it, so expect it to look fuller a year on than on the day it's planted. Trust the process.

So, how do we start?

Use the contact form or email info@latchdesigns.co with the project type, location and preferred days you wish to be contactable. PS: photos or a floor plan and a quick brief would help greatly.
