Designed for a young couple, Mid-Century Sanctuary transforms a five-room apartment into a compact retreat shaped around warmth, intimacy and everyday rituals.

Rather than relying on overt stylistic gestures, the interior is built from a quiet composition of warm timber, soft grey finishes and muted earth tones. Much of the material palette was developed together with the owners, allowing the home to retain a personal and collected quality rather than feeling overly prescribed.

Low-level lighting softens the interior after dark, while screens and carefully placed openings create moments of separation without completely enclosing spaces. These gestures allow light, views and movement to pass between rooms while preserving a sense of privacy.

Within the master bathroom, a fabric-diffused ceiling feature creates the impression of filtered daylight from above—an unexpected moment of softness within the apartment.

The result is a home that feels familiar yet considered: warm, slightly nostalgic and deliberately removed from the pace of the city outside.
