A penthouse nestled in the hilltop with an amazing view of the reservoir is transformed through a series of measured interventions, rather than complete reinvention.
The home is opened up to strengthen long views across the apartment, allowing living, dining and outdoor spaces to read as a continuous environment. Existing conditions are selectively retained while new architectural elements organise the home with greater clarity and ease.
A restrained palette of tactile materials provides warmth without competing with the expansive views beyond. Planting is introduced along the edges of the residence, softening the boundary between interior and exterior and giving the elevated apartment some of the qualities of a landed home.
The result is less about adding more, and more about creating flexibility through subtraction—an elevated residence where openness, landscape and everyday living coexist against the Singapore skyline.
